Medical imaging
Imaging examinations are important when looking for the causes of symptoms or examining the state of previously diagnosed injuries or conditions. Successful treatment is always based on a correct diagnosis.
Scans require a referral in which the referring physician describes the problem to be examined and justifies the need for the scan. The referring physician will also take responsibility for treating the patient after the examination. Note: X-ray examinations can generally be performed without an appointment, but an appointment must be made for ultrasound, mammography and magnetic resonance imaging.
Some types of examinations are only carried out at larger Aava Medical Centres, so, if necessary, please check your nearest location.
