General information about prices and charges related to appointments
Please note that only some of the services available at Aava are listed in this price list. The prices are valid from 1 January 2025.
Outpatient clinic fee
The outpatient clinic fee is charged for all physical and remote appointments, examinations and procedures, telephone consultations and renewals of prescriptions without an appointment.
The outpatient clinic fee covers the booking services, advice and guidance related to the arrangement of the appointment, cashier services, software and register maintenance and mobile services.
Kanta fee
A Kanta fee is charged for all appointments that involve saving information in the Kanta archive. These appointments include physical and remote appointments, telephone consultations and appointments for examinations and procedures with physicians, nurses, therapists and others who offer appointments. The Kanta fee covers the cost of fees paid to the authorities and the system costs resulting from regulatory requirements.

Prices for weekend appointments
On weekends and holidays, appointments with general practitioners and specialists have increased prices. The increase is from +30% on Saturdays and +100% on Sundays and public holidays. There are exceptions to the prices for remote appointments with respect to these increase percentages.
Cancelling or rescheduling an appointment
An appointment or examination visit can be cancelled or rescheduled free of charge up to 24 hours before the booked time in the Aava app, by phone, in Oma Aava or through the link in the booking confirmation sent by SMS. If the confirmation message does not reach the customer, the cancellation must be made in the Aava app, by calling +358 10 380 3838 or in Oma Aava.
Please note that surgeries can be cancelled or rescheduled free of charge up to 48 hours before the booked time only by calling +358 10 380 5300 (on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.) or by emailing [email protected].
For an uncancelled appointment or an appointment that was cancelled or rescheduled too late, we will charge a fee in accordance with the price list.
Payment methods
At Aava Medical Centre, you can pay by debit or credit card, with your Aava account or with an Aava gift voucher. The payment will be made at the clinic after the appointment/procedure/examination. If you have medical expenses or accident insurance from If, you can also use the If direct reimbursement service. We will make a reimbursement claim to If on your behalf. In most cases, you will only have to pay the deductible for your appointment.
Kela reimbursement
Kela provides partial reimbursement for appointment fees and the cost of examinations and care. Aava is included in Kela’s direct reimbursement scheme.
Please notice that Kela reimbursements for private medical care expenses will change on January 1, 2024. For more information on the grounds for reimbursement, see Kela’s website.
Prices for appointments with a general practitioner
Aava’s general practitioners are mostly independent professionals who set their own prices. The prices in this price list are indicative. You can find more detailed specialist-specific price estimates in the booking service.
The prices for appointments are based on the time that a physician spends treating the customer during the appointment and carrying out related tasks after the appointment, such as writing medical records and analysing examination results.
Procedures carried out during the appointment, statements, laboratory, X-ray and ultrasound examinations, supplies, vaccines and medicines are charged separately. Telephone consultations and renewals of prescriptions without an appointment are also subject to a charge.
The outpatient clinic fee and Kanta fee will be added to the prices.

Prices for appointments with a specialist
Aava’s specialists are mostly independent professionals who set their own prices. The prices in this price list are indicative. The price is influenced by the degree of difficulty of the speciality and the training and experience of the physician. You can find more detailed specialist-specific price estimates in the booking system.

Remote appointments
Remote appointments are mainly telephone consultations. The specialist from Aava will call you at the beginning of the allotted time. Please ensure that you are available to take the call and have your phone close by! You cannot call the specialist back. Our experienced specialists treat many ailments and symptoms at remote appointments.
Laboratory, X-ray and ultrasound examinations prescribed during the remote appointment are charged separately.
We recommend booking a remote appointment through our online booking service. Unused remote appointments that have not been cancelled will be charged according to the price list.
The outpatient clinic fee and Kanta fee will be added to the prices.
