I’m a Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN) with a focus on weight management and functional gastrointestinal disorders. Regarding obesity, I help solve eating-related issues of all sizes: together, we can build a diet that supports weight loss and weight management, go through the process of establishing new eating habits, and address potential emotional eating, stress eating, or binge eating issues. My approach with weight management clients is coaching-oriented, focusing on changes in eating behaviour. If needed, I also create loose meal plans that don’t involve precise measuring or weighing food. Many of my clients use weight loss medications to support weight loss; in such cases, we can work together to optimise the combination of medication and diet. If you’re considering bariatric surgery, you can come for an initial dietetic assessment, where you will also hear more about the post-surgery diet.
I’m also happy to assist with the dietary management of various functional gastrointestinal disorders. It is advisable to complete the necessary medical examinations before visiting a dietitian so that dietary changes can be tailored to your individual needs. In treating irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), I guide suitable clients through a FODMAP-restricted diet. Typically, 2-3 appointments are needed when trying the low FODMAP diet. The low FODMAP diet can also be used for children and adolescents, but in such cases, you should ideally have regular check-ups with a dietitian.
I have extensive experience as a dietitian in primary healthcare, specialised medical care, and occupational healthcare services, so you are warmly welcome to book an appointment with any other nutritional matters as well. I see both adults and children aged at least 6 months. I provide services to children and adolescents in situations such as: excessive or insufficient weight gain, selective eating, signs of disordered eating, or symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome or other functional gastrointestinal disorders. I also treat clients with special diets due to celiac disease or food allergies – in such cases, it’s advisable to have the necessary medical tests done in advance so that the foods to be avoided are known.
You only need a referral from a doctor or nurse if you are an occupational healthcare client; otherwise, you can book an appointment without a referral.
